Money sent to Iroquois football team from NFL players stolen

LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - A donation made to the Iroquois High School football team from Arizona Cardinals players was stolen, according to the team's coach.
Chris Peters made a Facebook post on Monday, saying his brother took up a collection in the locker room for the team. Chris' brother is Corey Peters, a nose tackle for the Cardinals who wears number 98.

Chris Peters said Corey sent $2,200 and a letter from the team to him via FedEx. When the packaged arrived, it was empty.
"We became aware of this matter earlier today and are attempting to gather more information from our customer," read a statement from FedEx. "We take this issue very seriously and have launched an internal investigation."

The Iroquois High School football team has been cleaning up the Beechmont neighborhood and helping residents in the area as part of their program. In return, Coach Peters asks the community to come out and support the team at their home games.
