Last baby born at Fort Knox's Ireland Army Hospital
FORT KNOX (WAVE) - The first photo of the last baby born at Fort Knox's Ireland Army Hospital has been released.
Greyson Wade Bates was born Friday morning.
His big sister also was born at the hospital, which has closed its labor and delivery services as it transitions into an acute care clinic.
Mom Alyssa said the family learned when she was 37 weeks pregnant that the hospital would be closing. Doctors gave the Bates family the option to be induced or go to another facility.
They chose to stay.
