LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - Traffic on the westbound lanes of Interstate 264 on the Georgia Powers Expressway is flowing again after a tanker truck accident which has closed a road running beneath the interstate.
According to MetroSafe, the tanker fell off the expressway, landed on Farnsley Road and began leaking around 11:50 a.m.
Due to the crash, Farnsley Road has been closed while emergency crews work at the scene.
The driver of the truck had to be removed by firefighters. That person's condition is not known at this time.
The tanker's cargo is reported to be waste excrement and non-hazardous.
Farnsley Road is expected to be closed for several hours while the crash is investigated and cleaned up.
