Shooting kills pregnant woman, unborn child in Lexington

LEXINGTON, KY (WAVE) - A woman who was eight-months pregnant was shot to death in Lexington overnight, and doctors were unable to save her baby.
WLEX-TV in Lexington reported that Mariyah Coleman, 22, died at University of Kentucky Medical Center early Thursday morning.
The shooting happened about 11 p.m. in the 1000 block of Winburn Drive in Lexington. Police have no suspects in the case, and they told WLEX that they have received conflicting reports about the circumstances that led to the shooting.

Two hours before the shooting took place, police investigated a report of shots fired in the same area, but they found no evidence. Investigators do not yet know whether the two incidents are related.
