2nd person charged in kidnapping, sexual assault of woman near UofL

LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - A second person has been charged in the sexual assault of a woman near the University of Louisville campus.

The first suspect, a 16-year-old, was arrested on Friday. Louisville Metro Police said on Wednesday that they are looking for a third suspect.

According to an arrest report, Dezmeontai Lamont Tinsley, 18, and a juvenile forced the woman into her vehicle at gunpoint on Sept. 12 near 3rd and Gaulbert streets. Police say the two suspects forced the victim to withdraw money from her bank account, took her to an unknown location and forced her to perform a sex act on both of them. Police said the woman was then allowed to leave, but Tinsley and the juvenile kept her vehicle.

The juvenile arrested Sept. 16 is charged in connection to two sexual assaults near UofL. The other assault happened at 7th Street and Shipp Avenue near the Bellamy Apartments on September 13. Police believe a third suspect may have been involved in the September 13 case.

Tinsley was arrested at 3:14 p.m. on Tuesday. He is charged with kidnapping, sodomy and first-degree robbery. On Wednesday, the judge increased his bond to $200,000.
