Dads motivate students at Crums Lane Elementary
LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) – Unexpected guests greeted students at Crums Lane Elementary School on Wednesday morning.
Dozens of men participated in JCPS' Flash Dads initiative at the school. The group included fathers, local businessmen, teachers, staff, alumni and church leaders. The men gave out high fives and cheers as students stepped off of buses and out of cars.
The purpose of the group is to motivate students to stay in school and learn.

"They may not be getting that at home," father James Jones said. "We never know what anyone's situation is, and for us to come out and just show them love and tell them that they are important, that can change life for them."
The Department of Equity and Poverty helps organize Flash Dads to visit schools monthly. In August, Flash Dads surprised students at Roosevelt-Perry Elementary.
