Woman arrested after pouring gasoline onto apartment floor

LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - A woman has been charged with arson after she poured gasoline into the living room of a home.

Julie Newman, 51, of Trussville, Alabama, was arrested at 5:20 p.m. October 13.

Investigators with the Louisville Metro Arson Bureau say the incident happened at an apartment in the 200 block of Breckinridge Square just after Noon. Newman, investigators say, poured the gasoline into the living room of a unit at Breckinridge Square Apartment Homes and onto a man inside as he tried to close the door. Newman then fled the scene.

Newman was booked into Louisville Metro Corrections, but online jail records show she is not longer in custody.
