LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - A woman is facing child endangerment charges after she and another person were found passed out in a vehicle while a baby was strapped into the back seat.
Shaterriah Grant, 25, of Louisville, was arrested for wanton endangerment, endangering the welfare of a minor and possession of synthetic drugs.
Officers were called to Shorty's Food Mart at 1711 W. Broadway around 12:50 p.m. October 17 after two adults were found passed out in an SUV with an infant in the back seat. The window to the SUV was down but the sun was hitting the child's face, police said.
It took five minutes for police to awaken the driver, the arrest report says. When they did and asked her to step out of the vehicle, police said Grant handed them a baggie of drugs that she said was Spice.
Grant's speech was slurred and she had a hard time answering questions, police said.
Grant has been the subject of a previous story on WAVE3.com. On June 1, Grant was ordered to appear before a judge after she was accused of hitting a child in a stroller with her car and fleeing.
Bond for Grant was set at $1,500 following her October 18 arraignment. She is scheduled to be back in court October 28.
