LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - Basketball players from Trinity High School and Sacred Heart Academy, along with athletes with special needs, hit the court Saturday.

It was for the annual Shooting for the Stars basketball camp for adults and teens with special needs.

Organizers said everyone looks forward to it all year.

"Just knowing that you're at least making a small difference in someone's life, just giving them the opportunity to maybe make a basket, just the smallest things can make their day," Trinity senior Jacob King said. "And to know you're a part of that, it's just cool, it's cool."

Organizers say this event has grown a lot since it was created 22 years ago, when only one athlete showed up.
