Louisville hosts Week of Valor to honor veterans, active-duty military

LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - The city of Louisville is hosting more than a dozen events to honor veterans, active-duty service members and their families.

Mayor Greg Fischer has teamed up with the Veterans Community Alliance of Louisville for the 3rd Annual Week of Valor.

Fourteen events are scheduled ftom November 4 through 13 around the city.

"The willingness of brave people to serve and sacrifice for this country is an essential part of the American character," Mayor Greg Fischer said. "I'm encouraging citizens from across the city to attend Week of Valor events and to show support for military members, veterans and their families.

Louisville's Veterans Day Parade will make its way through downtown streets on Friday, November 11, from 11 a.m. ro 1 p.m.
