Toy gun found at Bullitt Central High School; student suspended

BULLITT COUNTY, KY (WAVE) - A Bullitt Central High School student is facing expulsion for having a toy gun at the school.
Principal Jim Beavers found the gun after receiving a tip from another student. Beavers said the gun was a "very authentic looking replica."
The student was suspended and could be subject to a an expulsion hearing in accordance with school policy.

Beavers sent a message to parents to assure them the school was safe.
In the message, the principal addressed the rules in the school's student handbook that prohibit look-alike weapons, medications and drugs.
Beavers also commended the diligence of the student who brought the toy gun to a teacher's attention.
