KY attorney charged with theft, police looking for victims

CAMPBELLSVILLE, KY (WAVE) – Police are searching for possible victims after a Greensburg attorney was charged with theft.

Danny Butler, 70, was taken into custody Wednesday morning on Hyde Park Road, according to Kentucky State Police.

A grand jury indicted Butler after hearing evidence concerning Butler's mishandling of client funds and escrow accounts.

Police said search warrants were executed at Butler's home in Campbellsville and his office in Greensburg.

Butler was lodged in the Hardin County jail and charged with theft by unlawful taking and theft by failure to make required disposition over $10,000.

KSP is asking anyone who was a client of Butler's and may be a victim to contact KSP Post 15 by calling 1-800-222-5555 or by calling the FBI at 502-263-6122.
