Drug trafficking suspect also charged with indecent exposure

LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - A Louisville man arrested on drug trafficking charges was also wanted for exposing himself to three people, including a small child.

Joey Duane Richardson, 45, of Louisville, was arrested November 9 after his car was stopped in the Portland neighborhood for a traffic violation.

Louisville Metro police pulled Richardson's car over near 29th and Duncan just before 9 a.m. near Atkinson Elementary School. Officers found Richardson was wanted on a 2015 warrant for indecent exposure that said he was pleasuring himself outside his apartment. The warrant says Richardson told the witnesses, a man, woman and their child, to "have a nice day" after they spotted him.

inside Richardson's car police found a rubber bag which contained meth and heroin in baggies and prescription bottles. The drugs were packaged for sale. Also found were 20 Xanax pills, a small bag of marijuana, a glass smoking pipe and other drug paraphernalia. Richardson said the drugs were not his.

In addition to the indecent exposure charge, Richardson was booked into Louisville Metro Correction for trafficking in meth and heroin, possession of a controlled substance, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and trafficking in a controlled substance within 1,000 feet of a school.

Police said Richardson had a large amount of money in his pants pocket and wallet. He told police he worked in the home remodeling business.
