LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) – The victim of a hit-and-run in downtown Louisville has died.
The male victim and a female pedestrian had been at the McDonald's at Broadway and Second Street and decided to go to the Thorntons at Broadway and First Street shortly before 6:30 a.m. on Nov. 4, according to Louisville Metro Police Department spokeswoman Alicia Smiley.
The pair was about halfway between First and Second Streets when they crossed Broadway at an angle and the man was hit by a Nissan SUV.
Police said neither person was in the crosswalk at the time.
The driver of the SUV continued driving to work before contacting police.
The name of the man has not been released. The woman he was with was not injured.
The LMPD Traffic Unit is turning the case over to the Commonwealth Attorney's Office to determine any possible charges.
