LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - Three people have been charged with the armed robbery of a juvenile for his cell phone.
Louisville Metro police say Darius V. Montgomery, 18, and two juveniles, ages 15 and 14, committed the robbery November 5.
Montgomery and the two juveniles were hanging out in a field in the 8100 block of Kenhurst. As the third juvenile walked by, police say one of the three placed a gun to the head of the teen and took his cell phone. After the robbery, Montgomery and one of the juvenile suspects tried to sell the phone at the EcoATM the Kroger on Terry Road.
During questioning, detectives learned gun used in the robbery was stored at Montgomery's home. Police recovered the weapon.
Montgomery is also facing a theft by unlawful taking charge in a separate care. On October 12, Montgomery and the 14-year-old were car hopping in the 8400 block of Terry Road when they entered a vehicle and took items from it.
Bond for Montgomery has been set at $100,000 cash.
