NELSON COUNTY, KY (WAVE) - It's been more than a year and four months since Crystal Rogers was last seen. Since she vanished, WAVE 3 News has spoken to her parents, Tommy and Sherry Ballard, numerous times. They have never stopped looking for their daughter.

Crystal's father, Tommy Ballard, was tragically shot and killed early Saturday morning in a hunting incident.  Since his daughter went missing, Tommy has spent countless hours trying to find her.

"We come out everyday hoping we'll find something," said Tommy Ballard in October 2015.

Crystal has never been found. Her car was discovered abandoned on the Bluegrass Parkway.

In October of last year, the Sheriff's Department named Rogers' boyfriend, Brooks Houck, the lead suspect in her disappearance. He has not been charged.

Crystal was last seen alive after spending time at the Houck family farm with Houck and their son.

In August, investigators spent two days searching the property with cadaver dogs and dive teams. Police say they are confident that a crime was committed in relation to Rogers, somewhere on the property.

The Ballard's have been grateful to each and every person who has taken the time to look for Crystal. From every sign, every footstep taken to find her, and every prayer has meant the world to them.  A community that has stood by these parents who have never given up.

"We're just ready for it to be over," said Sherry Ballard.

"We're ready for some type of closure," said Tommy Ballard.
