LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) – Louisville Metro police have made an arrest in the shooting death of a man who claimed he had just won a lottery jackpot right before he was killed.

Anthony Taylor, 27, is charged with murder in the Nov. 18 shooting death of Leroy "Chilli Woo" Williams, 37, according to LMPD.

Williams was shot in the alley at Dixie Highway and St. Louis Avenue around 2:50 p.m.

According to a store clerk, Williams had walked inside the store and announced that he had won $1,200 on two tickets right before he was shot.

Taylor and a co-defendant, Eric Taylor, 29, are also charged with first-degree robbery in an unrelated incident that happened earlier the same day. Police said the Taylors, whose relationship is unknown, broke into a home in the 1700 block of Wilson Avenue on Nov. 18, beat a woman and took her belongings.

Both suspects were booked into Louisville Metro Department of Corrections.
