LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - It's an adrenaline rush for consumers and retailers as discounted gifts are flying off the cyber shelves right now. Analysts say 122 million Americans are expected to shop today, spending $3.4 billion. That's up 10 percent from last year. But before you grab your credit card to cash in, beware.

Online security experts say using a separate credit card to shop online is the way to go. That way if hackers get your information the rest of your credit line and bank accounts are safe.

Also, pay attention to your statements, even micro charges. Hackers hope you won't notice a dollar or two missing from your account, which adds up for them.

Amazon expects more than 500 items to be purchased each second.

Retailers are calling Black Friday, this past weekend, and Cyber Monday, cyber weekend. During this stretch, on average, men are expected to spend 417 dollars total, while women will spend 24-7.
