(WAVE) - Now showing ... whatever you want and wherever you want.

>> LIST: Netflix comings & goings for December

That's the latest from Netflix, the binge-inducing stream-rental company that has changed the way we consume our entertainment content.

Instead of firing up ye ole Netflix app on your device and watching immediately as long as you have an internet connection, users can now download movies and shows regardless of their connectivity.

That means subscribers can watch in airplane mode while flying home for the holidays or riding the subway.

The feature will be available for both iOS and Android customers, but like the upgrade from DVDs to streaming several years ago, the content available for the download feature will be limited. Reports indicate the first downloadable programs will include "Orange is the New Black" and "The Crown," but "House of Cards" is expected to be available for the new feature when Season 5 comes out early next year.
