LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - Hairstylists, makeup artists and professional photographers all gathered at the Salvation Army facility for a good cause.
Help-Portrait Louisville was created to help families who might not otherwise be able to afford pictures this holiday season.
Participants in the Help-Portrait Louisville program could get family photos, head shots for jobs, or other professional pictures done. Organizers say it not only creates permanent memories, but also helps boost the self-esteem of many people who come in through the doors.
"Portraits, you know they're expensive," Robin Baker Jones, Help-Portrait Louisville organizer said. "so this is our way of saying ok lets not think about cost, lets give back. A lot of times the community helps our businesses and small businesses so this is our time of the year to give back."
