New Air Jordans targeted in smash-and-grab at City Gear store

LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - An apparent smash-and-grab robbery left a Louisville business with a large hole in the building and missing an undetermined amount of merchandise.
An employee of City Gear, located at 4443 Cane Run Road in the Tradewinds West Shopping Center, said it appeared the new Air Jordan 11 Space Jam athletic shoes were specifically targeted. The sought after shoes are due to be released to the public Dec. 10.

Louisville Metro Police Department spokesman Dwight Mitchell said the burglary was reported about 6:50 a.m. Wednesday. Responding officers said the hole in the back of the building is consistent with damage caused by a vehicle.
The store opened for business Wednesday, despite the robbery. Police said they were reviewing surveillance video from the area.
