Police: Man tied up and raped disabled woman

LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - A Louisville man has been charged with raping a disabled woman.

Louisville Metro Police arrested John L. Taylor, also known as Antwan L. Taylor, on Thursday. Taylor was charged with first-degree rape, second-degree assault, first-degree unlawful imprisonment, first-degree wanton endangerment, and intimidating a participant in the legal process and theft by unlawful taking.

LMPD said after smoking marijuana with a 59-year-old disabled woman, Taylor got a large butcher knife from her kitchen and told her that he was going to rape her.

According to his arrest report, Taylor then forced the woman onto her back, raped her, then made a small cut on the woman's face with the knife.

LMPD said Taylor tied the woman's wrists and ankles, put tape over her eyes, stole the victim's phone, and then left the woman's home.

Police said the woman used a motorized wheelchair to move around. According to Taylor's arrest report, the incident could cause serious physical injury to the woman or even death. The victim's current condition is unknown.
