Man facing organized crime charge related to thefts of vehicles

LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - Charges of engaging in an organized crime syndicate related to the theft and burglary of automobiles have been filed against a Louisville man.

Damion J. Hayes, 20, is also charged with 13 counts of theft by unlawful taking of an auto, four counts of burglary and two counts of theft from an auto.
According to Louisville Metro police, Hayes was arrested after he was implicated in the thefts and burglaries by three juveniles who had been previously arrested.

Detectives said Hayes was also observed on surveillance video in one of the
vehicles that had been taken during a burglary.
Hayes was taken into custody at his home on the afternoon of December 12. He is also being held at Louisville Metro Corrections on outstanding warrants.
