Silver Creek basketball game canceled due to bomb threat

SELLERSBURG, IN (WAVE) – A boys basketball game was canceled after a written threat was found at Silver Creek High School.
Sellersburg Police Department Chief Russ Whelan said the game was canceled Wednesday after a custodian found a note concerning a bomb threat against the school.
Whelan said Louisville Metro Police Department K-9s will be brought to Sellersburg to sweep the school.

There were no issues during the school day and students were dismissed normally.
Whelan said officers are taking the threat seriously and police are investigating persons of interest in the case.
According to the school, the basketball game was a freshman game against Providence High School and was scheduled to start at 6 p.m. at Silver Creek.
