LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - An LMPD officer was involved in a wreck in Portland Sunday night.

The call came in just before 9 p.m. Sunday night of a wreck at 26th and St. Xavier Streets.

Video from the scene showed a white passenger vehicle with severe damage to the passenger's side.

Angela Taylor Johnson, a woman on scene, said her son was in the white vehicle and she has not been allowed to have contact with him other than to know he's been transported to University Hospital.

"They really haven't let me talk to my son," Johnson said. "Right now they're not giving me too much information, which I think is ridiculous. Had it been an accident that my son or his friends had caused and it was officer involved, my son would be all over the news. His face and everything like he had committed a real crime. And I think it's wrong that when they're in the wrong, nothing can be told."

MetroSafe said the officer was not injured.

The crash remains under investigation.
