2 arrested after police find drugs, $13,000 in cash in Bardstown residence

BARDSTOWN, KY (WAVE) - Two people were arrested after police found drugs, along with thousands of dollars in cash, stashed in a home.

Police executed a warrant on Ashberry Drive in Bardstown on Wednesday. A search of the residence resulted in the discovery of two ounces of marijuana, heroin, Xanax pills, and $13,000 in cash, according to police.

James Steven Scrogham II, 37, and Leslie Nicole Burkhead, 31, were arrested.

Both of the Bardstown residents were charged with drug trafficking. More charges are expected as the investigation continues.

Police have urged anyone with drug information to call the Greater Hardin County Narcotics Task Force at 270-769-0694. All callers can remain anonymous.
