LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) – Balloons raced through the clouds Thursday morning.

Nineteen balloons launched from Bowman Field at 7 a.m. for the U.S. Bank Great Balloon Charity Race.

The IMTS balloon piloted by Patrick Fogue won the race by tossing a marker from the balloon that landed 9 feet 2 inches from the target.

His celebrity co-pilot, Village Anchor chef Henry Wesley, won a $1,000 donation for the Kentucky Humane Society.

If you missed the balloons Thursday morning you can see them during the Great Balloon Glimmer on the Great Lawn at Waterfront Park at 8:30 p.m.
