Help the animals: 24th Annual Waggin' Tail Walk & Festival this Sunday

LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - This Sunday, join more than 800 animal lovers and their pets for the "Waggin' Trail Walk & Festival for the Animals". From 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday, this popular walk and festival will raise money for the state's largest pet adoption agency.
The 24th annual event will take place at the Louisville Water Tower Park on River Road, and benefits the Kentucky Humane Society. After the 2:30 p.m. walk, people and their pets can enjoy the dog-friendly festival. Features of the festival will be beer, food trucks, music, children's activities, adoptable dogs, doggie oasis tents, and best of all- adoptable dogs and horses.
Other highlights include an animal art booth where owners can get creative unique works of art created by their pets, gourmet dog popsicles by Dog Hill Pawp, and food trucks by both Motoring Gastro and Get in Your Belly Deli. New this year to the event, Lucky Dogs will offer a fun, pay-per-run game of chase for dogs called lure chasing.

Information about fostering pets and local veterinary services will be available from animal rescue groups. Vendors will also have products to purchase such as T-shirts and collars.
Participants register for Waggin' Trail online at support.kyhumane.org/wtrail and can invite family, friends and coworkers to sponsor their walks. They can join as individuals or teams. Registration is $35 for adults or $25 for children ages 12 and younger.
