Man killed in crash on I-71 identified
HENRY COUNTY, KY (WAVE) – A man who died following a crash on Interstate 71 has been identified.
Mark Banta, 53, was driving a passenger truck when he exited the southbound lanes on I-71, crossed into the northbound lanes and hit the driver's side of a semi-truck near the 32 mile marker around 4:30 p.m. Monday, according to Kentucky State Police.

After the initial crash, police said a passenger vehicle veered into the median to try and avoid hitting Banta's truck and went into the southbound lanes and hit two other vehicles.
Banta was pronounced dead at the scene by the Henry County coroner.
At least two other people were injured. Their conditions have not been released.
The crash remains under investigation.
