Fundraiser for Noblesville, IN school shooting victim surpasses $25,000 goal
Ella Whistler was shot seven times by a classmate at Noblesville West Middle School in Indiana.

INDIANAPOLIS, IN (WAVE) - A fundraiser to benefit Noblesville West student and shooting victim Ella Whistler has now surpassed its goal of $25,000

The Academy Volleyball Club hosted 'Ella's Invite" over the weekend. The benefit tournament raised over $25,000 for Ella and her ongoing medical expenses.

"We are truly blessed. The generosity of our community has been absolutely amazing. The support of all of our teams and the enthusiasm of all our players, parents, friends, staff, and volunteers is what made this event such a success," said Emily Hawthorne, Director of The Academy Volleyball Club. "We feel fortunate to be able to help Ella Whistler and her family during this time."

Ella was a player at the Academy last year and plays volleyball currently at Noblesville West.

The two-day event, included a volleyball tournament, silent auction, and t-shirt sales.

Shirts are still available for purchase for $10 each and are available in sizes youth small through adult 3XL.
