NAMI Walk

NAMI, National Alliance on Mental Illness, is hosting a walk to raise money and awareness to ensure vital, free classes and services are available to those in need of them. NAMI wants to show that people are not alone and that mental illness affects everyone. They hope to stop the stigma associated with mental illness.

Lindse Murphy, President of NAMI Louisville, has been exposed to mental illness since she was a child. Growing up with a bipolar and emotionally depressed mother, Lindse eventually decided to pursue therapy as a profession. Today, she's a Chief Operating Officer with UHS Health currently serving at Wellstone Regional Hospital, a 100-bed psychiatric hospital and outpatient center for children, adolescents and adults located in Southern Indiana.

Lindse also currently serves as NAMI's Board President, a role she took on to further promote their mission of providing free classes and services for those who have been affected by mental illness. Lindse walks for her mom and the many individuals who she encounters each day in her role at Wellstone and with NAMI.
