ALERT DAY: Rain and snow on the way

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) - Most of Today is going to be dry, but it will be chilly under a mostly cloudy sky. Highs will warm into the upper 30s in most locations. This evening a wintry mix will develop north of Louisville while areas south will be looking at rain. Light snow accumulations 1-2 inches possible from Paoli to Carrollton and north. As temperatures warm overnight we changeover to a cold rain. Rain will continue into Monday as an area of low pressure passes to our southeast. The heaviest rain will be to the southeast of Louisville. Even a few rumbles of thunder are possible southeast. Highs will range from near 60 south to 40 north. Monday evening into early Tuesday morning the rain may briefly end as light snow, especially across southern Indiana.
