Fire in unoccupied Old Louisville house spreads to neighbors, takes 1 hour to extinguish

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) - A fire in the Old Louisville neighborhood spread to neighboring houses Sunday morning, according to Louisville fire.
LFD Captain Donovan Sims said around 4 a.m. crews were called to the 1300 block of South Floyd Street on reports of a fire in an unoccupied house. When they arrived they found a two-story house with fire in the back that had spread to two neighboring houses.
Sims said an extra two engines and one truck were needed to help fight the fire. It took about 40 firefighters around an hour to get control of the blaze. No one was found inside any of the three houses.
One firefighter was treated on scene for shortness of air but was not taken to the hospital, according to Sims.
LFD Arson is investigating.
