JEFFERSONVILLE, IN (WAVE) – As we get closer to 2012, the field of contenders for president is far from set. But speculation continues across the country about whether Indiana Governor Mitch Daniels name will appear on the ballot.
At an event Wednesday, August 25, 2010, Daniels had this to say (although jokingly) about a possible run.
"Well, you can certainly not assume any such thing. "You can see that I'm not doing any of the things that people do: folks running for president run around the country and raise money and give it away to people in other states," said Daniels. "They go to Iowa and New Hampshire. My time and my attention is where I've been the last two days - Booneville, Sellersburg, Corydon, Jeffersonville, and New Albany. We've got a lot to work on here and that's where my duty lies."
The statements come despite Indiana Senator Richard Lugar's hopes that Daniels would run for President.
