LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - Media from as far away as Denmark were at a Rand Paul press conference. The Republican U.S. Senate candidate's team sent an email that simply said there was a "significant campaign development."

The development has to do with what Rand Paul says is the most important issue - jobs.

There were seven TV cameras including FOX News and half a dozen print reporters at the announcement where the National Federation of Independent Business announced its support for Paul.

Members say they endorsed Paul because he is a doctor and small business owner who understands their issues and healthcare.

Paul spoke out against the healthcare bill.

"Obamacare did nothing to lower premiums," said Paul. "Obamacare added new mandates that will raise the cost of insurance."

His opponent Democrat Jack Conway said he would have voted for it.

"It's not a perfect bill," said Conway. "I would like to fix it. I would like to tweak it. There are things I would like to do to it, but I would like to go up there and try to fix it and Rand Paul wants to try to repeal it."

Paul is getting another big name endorsement from former Republican Presidential nominee Mike Huckabee who will be in Kentucky for a Paul fundraiser.
