Deadly crash on Outer Loop

LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) – Louisville Metro Police are investigating an accident on the Outer Loop just off Interstate 65 that has left a woman dead.

According to MetroSafe Dispatch, a call was received at 6:50 p.m. reporting the crash on the Outer Loop near the McDonald's at Minors Lane. First responders found a small pickup truck and a van that has collided and were off on the side of the road.

Witnesses who tried to help the victims tell us a woman in the van was dead when they got to her. The man driving the van was alert and suffered injuries to his legs. The witnesses said there appeared to be only minor injuries to those in the truck.

Witnesses tell us the van was turning onto Interstate 65 when it pulled out in front of the truck.

The names of those involved have not been released.
