Rename the Pegasus float for the 2012 Pegasus Parade

LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - You now have a chance to get involved with the Kentucky Derby Festival Pegasus Parade.

New for 2012 KDF is hosting a contest to rename the star of the parade the inflatable Pegasus.

The renaming of the Pegasus comes as Republic Bank renews its sponsorship of the festival's oldest event through 2013.

"Entry forms will be available at all bank branches. Email submission can be sent to pegasus@republicbank.com and submissions can be sent via phone texting to pegasus (space) followed by your name to 511511. The contest will be open through the end of the year," said Michael Sadofsky of Republic Bank.

The winner will be announced at the parade preview party and will receive a parade VIP package.

Family, fun and games was announced as the theme for the 2012 parade. 

WAVE 3 will bring you exclusive live coverage of the parade on May 3, 2012.
