Young man found dead on 43rd Street, police suspect foul play

LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - Metro homicide detectives were called to the Chickasaw neighborhood in west Louisville late Thursday after a body was found behind a home.

Police received the call at 10:53 p.m. about a man down in the rear of a home in the 200 block of South 43rd Street near Virginia Avenue. The victim, said to be a young man in his late teens or early 20's, was pronounced dead at the scene.

LMPD spokesperson Alicia Smiley would not release how the man was killed, but did say foul play is suspected. The name of the victim will not be released by the coroner's office until family members have been notified.
