Homicide investigation in West Buechel; victim identified

LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - Metro police are investigating Louisville's latest homicide after the body of a man was found in West Buechel.

Officers got a call of a man down at an apartment complex in the 4300 block of Norbrook Drive around 6 a.m. The Jefferson County Coroner's Office said 49-year-old Harrison Edwards, Junior died from blunt force trauma to the head.

"We've had some issues in this area, but not sure we've had any homicides in this area any time recently," said Dwight Mitchell, a LMPD spokesperson. "This is an unfortunate accident, a homicide, and any one is not good for the community."

Anyone with information about the death of Edwards is asked to the LMPD Crime Tip Line at 574-LMPD (5673). All calls to the Crime Tip Line are anonymous.
