LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - A man facing attempted murder charges is now also accused of trying to escape from Louisville Metro Corrections.

Just after 10 a.m. Monday corrections officers say 50-year-old Carlos Brooks was returning to the jail after appearing in court when he tried to hide from surveillance cameras while trying to get a door open.

On January 18 we reported on the arrest of Brooks, who is accused in an armed robbery at Dino's Food Mart at 26th and Broadway. During that robbery on January 7, police say Brooks fired several shots at workers inside the store.

Brooks was charged with attempted murder and wanton endangerment for the robbery and was being held on $350,000 full cash bond.
