Woman hospitalized after apartment fire

LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - One woman was rushed to the hospital after a fire broke out in a Fairdale apartment building.
Fire crews were called to the scene in the 7000 block of 3rd Street Road just before 3 p.m. on September 2.
The building was evacuated as a precaution. A neighbor said that the now hospitalized woman was taking a bath when the fire broke out in her unit. Because she was slow to exit the building, she suffered from smoke inhalation and is currently being treated for that condition.
One person was also pulled from his floor window with a ladder, but he was not injured. Only one unit and the hallway suffered damage.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
