Fight continues over proposed apartments

LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) – A battle continues over a proposed apartment complex in Highview where residents would have income restrictions.
If they are built, you could not make more than $26,000 to live there. Residents believe it will increase crime in the area and they said the development company, LDG Properties, has had about 350 liens against it in Louisville because it does not maintain its properties. They said the proposed three story building does not fit with the neighborhood.
"The apartments across the street are only one story and yet what they're proposing is a three story set of 10 or so buildings that really is just way too much for that small area of land," said John Bingham, concerned resident.
Mayor Greg Fischer supports the 212 unit apartment complex. Opponents will have an appeal heard on October 1 with the Metro Board of Zoning Adjustment.
