LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) – Louisville firefighters were able quickly bring a fire under control that damaged one apartment in a building on Brownsboro Road in the Clifton Heights neighborhood.

Fire crews were dispatched after residents in the apartment building heard the fire alarms and called police.

The fire occurred in the 2700 block of Brownsboro Road, just west of N. Birchwood Avenue, around 8:40 a.m.

When crews arrived they noticed smoke coming from the back of the last apartment building on the block.

According to fire crews, they believe the fire started in the kitchen area of an apartment.  Arson investigators will still need to do work to determine how the fire started.

No injuries were reported and the fire was contained to the one apartment unit.
