LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - Two people were arrested Tuesday after breaking into a neighbor's home and stealing several items, according to Louisville Metro police.

An arrest reports states Amanda R. Wells, 29, confessed to officers that she and David W. Sanders, 28, broke into Wells' neighbor's apartment in the 1300 block of South Brook Street and stole a TV, cell phones, IDs and food.

Wells also admitted that she and Sanders stole a purse from a woman at the Kentucky Exposition Center. Wells said she used the victim's ID to purchase cell phones and open cell phone accounts and cashed several checks belonging to the victim. Police said Sanders also cashed a check that Wells had forged.

In addition, Wells told investigators that she had accidentally received checks in the mail that were not intended for her, but she cashed them anyway using other IDs.

Wells is charged with second degree burglary, theft by unlawful taking and two counts of identity theft. Sanders is charged with second degree burglary, theft by unlawful taking and criminal possession of a forged instrument.
