Man, woman accused of stealing from day cares turn themselves in

LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) – Two people accused of stealing from day cares in Saint Matthews turned themselves in to authorities Monday.

According to police, Tamera Jenkins and Duane Acklin pretended to be parents looking at potential day cares. While taking tours of the facilities officers said the two stole employees wallets and purses.

Both were booking into Louisville Metro Department of Corrections. Acklin is charged with tampering with physical evidence, burglary, fraudulent use of a credit card and attempted theft by unlawful taking.

Jenkins is charged with probation violation, serving bench warrant for court, wanton endangerment, burglary, fraudulent use of a credit card, receiving stolen property, assault under extreme emotional disturbance, attempted theft by unlawful taking and tampering with physical evidence.
