8 units affected in overnight apartment fire

LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) – An apartment fire forces families from their homes early Monday morning.
According to MetroSafe, the fire started at the Cedar Springs Apartments in the 7000 block of Cedar Knoll Place in Fern Creek. Eight units were affected in the building, four were heavily damaged.
One injured firefighter was taken to the hospital with a back injury.
No other injuries have been reported. One family is looking for their dog who ran away as they escaped the building.
