Man charged with murder in apartment shooting

LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - The man shot at an apartment building Wednesday has died, and police have arrested a suspect on a charge of murder.

Raquan Carmichael, 24, is charged with murder and burglary. Detectives believe he illegally entered a unit of an apartment building in the 2000 block of Terril Lane and got into a fight with the victim, which led to the shooting.

On Wednesday, police said the victim, an unidentified man in his 30s, was shot outside the building around 12:10 a.m. Aug. 13. He was taken to University of Louisville Hospital.

Police said that Carmichael was identified by witnesses. The arrest report says Carmichael lives near the building where the shooting occurred.
