The warrant states Gough reached for a revolver on a nearby table, and a struggle for control of the weapon ensued between Gough and the child's mother. Upon regaining control of the gun, Gough fired one shot into the floor next to the woman and a few feet from his daughter, police said.

The child's mother suffered minor pain and swelling to her face, according to the warrant. It is not clear whether the teen was injured during the confrontation.

A third witness is listed on the warrant as being present at the time of the alleged incident on Jan. 12.

Gough is charged with fourth-degree assault, wanton endangerment and possession of a handgun by a convicted felon.
