LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - Fire crews are at the scene of an apartment fire in southern Jefferson County.

The fire is at the Glenmary Village Apartments on Meadow Valley Lane. The building was evacuated.

Sixteen apartments are damaged.

WAVE 3 News reporter Katherine Kington tweeted that one side of the building collapsed, giving onlookers a view straight into one of the apartment units.

Kington also reported a resident taking her child to school noticed a top-floor unit was on fire, so she ran inside to knock on doors to alert them to the blaze.

There were no immediate reports of injuries.

Drivers distracted by the fire could cause delays on Bardstown Road.

This story will be updated.
