The flames were contained and there was no threat to public safety, said Natasha Collins, a spokeswoman for LG&E.

Mill Creek is a coal-fired power plant operated by LG&E on Dixie Highway near Shipley Lane in south Louisville.

At this point it is not clear how badly the patients are injured.

Collins said LG&E has launched an internal investigation.
